Budapest - Day 1

MOAR TRAVELLING!!! This is the great thing about living in Central Europe, that you can look up something on the internet (Calvin Harris), find out that he's playing at a festival not too far away (Balaton Sound at Zamardi in Hungary), and decide to hop over with some friends (Susi und Franzi). We ultimately decided not to get tickets on the day he was playing though, opting to spend some time wandering around Budapest as the other two had never been there before.
And boy, did the city turn it on or what?!

Clear blue skies, gentle temperatures...

No wonder we took so many photos!

Franzi actually arrived very early in the morning and sent texts saying how beautiful the city was and how she was enjoying wandering around. Arriving in the early evening, she took us to some places she had found around our district.
Such as the holocaust memorial at the Synagogue

And this random Panda

For dinner, we picked something out of the guidebook, Noir et L'Or, specialising in French/Hungarian fare. I highly recommend this place. The food was absolutely delicious and while I'm sure there are cheaper places out there, the servings were huge!
In fact, after I saw my entree of fois gras, tomato jam, mash, and fried onions, I thought *shit, this could have been my main*. I also considered not eating all of it, but damn if its deliciousness didn't defeat me! Franzi also had this and was of the same opinion on size and tastiness.

My main of paprika chicken with cottage cheese noodles. There was like..half a chicken on my plate and it wasn't finished. When the waiter asked us if we'd like to get dessert, we all refused and cried at having to turn it down :(

To end the nights, we had a drink in this funky bar/club that was some sort of converted....something.

Coming up! Tourism galore!
