VALIDATED!!!

Remember when I waxed lyrical on how awesome Scarlett Johansson's boobs were? Well it's nice to know that Natalie Portman agrees with me!

SHE got caught having a sly glimpse at them last week.

And now we know why - NATALIE PORTMAN is infatuated with SCARLETT JOHANSSON's breasts.

The Star Wars beauty got to see Scarlett's assets at close quarters during filming of The Other Boleyn Girl.

And judging by these comments, they made a big impression on her.

Natalie said "Seriously, I would really want to grab Scarlett's breasts.

"She's got beautiful ones."

Amen to that...

But you know, Natalie Portman's not so bad herself.

There's a scene in Closer where she's in a strip club and wearing this awesome blonde wig but I couldn't find a pic of it. These'll do!

Data....

Mmmm....I can't say much about this but it has produced excitement from my lab and high fives from the lab whose microscope I used! This is actually not the best one - that one is secret ;)

Pretty flashing lights ;)

Sorrento

Me? Visit the beach? And enjoying myself?!!? What is the world coming to!?! But yes, QQ wanted my company at a birthday party she had been invited to at a beach house. Princess Mallymoodle is not really a fan of the beach - tans?! sand?! YUK!!!!! - but she wanted me there so I hopped into her car for the drive down to Point Nepean. I didn't pack my bathers though; the weather wasn't supposed to be great.

Anyway, we got to beach house but the ppl there were jus
t packing up their breakfast and happy to hang around the place and play the wii. We however, were not happy that we'd driven two hours to sit around and play console games and managed to bully some people into going to a nearby winery (for some wine) and then to the beach (for some beachiness).

I heartily recommend the winery - The Cups Estate. I especially recommend their sparkling blanc de noir - QQ liked it so much she bought two bottle
s of it then and there. I also liked their port - it was quite light and not as syrupy as some ports I've had. Probably not strong enough to pour over ice cream but nice with some cheese and crackers. Here are some pics

Our antipasto platter.

The place also had a good view of the Moonah Links golf course.

We went to the ocean back beach...and it sure showed it's ocean-ness. Some of those waves were kinda scary looking. I only went into my ankles but had to k
eep an eye on the big'uns.

The wash.

Methinks these rocks will be eroded away soon.

Running away from the waves.

Some crazy boogie boarders. Crazy!

Rejuvenated by the alcohol and seaspray, we went back to the beach house where QQ passed out from exhaustion and where I challenged some guys to wii boxing. I'm pleased to report that all the training I did at Miss Pooky's place paid off - I whipped them big time, I even managed to knock one guy out in about 30 seconds! W00t w00t!

Update

Hai beloved readers! Sorry for not updating for the week - I decided that in order to cultivate the most voting for the Dean vs Sam poll, it would be best if I left it as the very first thing you saw. No matter. Although it goes for another month, I think the results are pretty conclusive

DEAN WINS!!!!
Here's a more arty shot that kinda makes him look like a girl.
It's those purty eyelashes he has.

In other news, not much has been happening during the week to write about anyway. I have just been sitting around writing my literature review because I stupidly told erica that she'd get it today. Stupidstupidstupid. But it's done now so hopefully I will have more entertaining things to report back to everyone! ;)

Poll to decide, once and for all

This poll will be up for a month. VOTE.

Just to help you guys out, here's a reminder of who's who.

Dean

Sam

Choose wisely, people.

All-singing, all-drinking weekend!

Do you ever crawl back from a big weekend and think *I'm too old for this shit*? Me too but here's the rundown anyway :D

After a quiet Friday and a glorious Saturday afternoon in the lab *cough*, dancinghula, Kt, Junie, Rao and ...I can't remember his name... invited me out to find out who was Australia's next Asian Idol. Yes, there was a lot of Jay Chou, LeeHom...hell, I even gave Teresa Teng a shot (Mum would be so proud of me :D). The funny thing is that things got kinda crazy even though the karaoke night was completely dry. Yes, public singing without the aid of alcohol, I have come a long way. The place we went (a new place in Melb Cent) was very nice - none of the cracked vinyl seats in some old places that will remain nameless, but the English selection wasn't that fantastic - I can't believe they didn't have Don't Look Back In Anger. What kind of karaoke place doesn't have that!? It's the perfect karaoke song!!!

I hung out there until nearly 2am whereby I crashed at kahuna's place because I had to board a bus at 8:45am (on a Sunday?!?!) to go grape grazing in the Yarra Valley. I can't believe I never took a photo of the nifty retro double-decker bus we took to get there. At least, it was pretty nifty until it started moving and I realised I could probably run faster than it could drive. It was a pretty hot day and possibly not the best for getting drunk in the sun...or the conditions were perfect! You may decide.

The *before* photo

The first stop was the Train Trak Winery where sure enough, a disused train track passed by the winery gates. I didn't photograph that either.

Some vines

Some views

This place offered chopper rides for the absolute bargain rate of $50 for 5 minutes

Yes, this guy was storing his own bottle of wine in his back pocket

The next stop was the Rochford Winery. This place was much larger with less shade and a bigger band playing. I did not mosh, but with the help of John IT's friend Johno, I experienced the joy that is a champagne with calippo - it tastes a bit like a fruit tingle.

The crowd
More crowd

Perspective started getting skewed after so much drink and sun

I hit the ground with a smile on my face

Another way to keep hydrated

Alas, some assholes picked a fight on the bus ride home. I am proud to say that I played the cool and logical scientist rather than jump on in like the crazy hot-headed artist of my youth. Or it could have been a combination of the heat, alcohol and age catching up with me.

How to end depression

I bought a new pair of shoes today :D but there's a bit of a story going on here.

I have been searching for a-a-a-ages for a pair of enclosed feet black leather kitten/medium heels that fell within my student price range. It's been very depressing. I have some pretty
faithful medium/kitten heels but constant wear has been trying on them - I'm always filled with horror when I think about when my poor shoes got flooded in Canberra - or they're made of suede and therefore not suitable for all weather wear. I found a pair of Nine West heels in Sydney that had been reduced but the only pair in my size were brown. BROWN. Brown shoes with the right outfit is okay, but they just aren't as wearable as black. Nor are they as sexy. In either case, my inability to find a suitable pair has been depressing. Frankly, I'd been consoling myself with the mantra that I will go to NYC and Paris in May and I'd find a pair there. *sigh*

The second depressing thing was trying to co-
ordinate an Alice in Wonderland costume (right). I know it's the end of dress season here so I figured it wouldn't be too hard to find a flared skirt blue pinafore-style dress. Ba-bummmm!!! It was DIFFICULT!!! I believe that bright, jewel-toned colours suit me best. That was confirmed when every single light blue dress made me look like a zombie. And if they didn't make me look like a member of the un-dead, they made me look like I was about to give birth to one. *sigh*

So while I was moping around in misery, the solution to depressant number one was solved. I was walking past a store I don't normally shop in when I decided to look at their shoes...and fell for a pair of patent medium heeled shoes! And not only were they discounted, the store was taking an extra 25% off already discounted shoes!

I stupidly have left my camera at unes so here's the catalogue pic.

Okay, they're not round toed, but it'll do!

I was so pleased with them I decided to spend the day at uni breaking them in. They made a wonderful clicking sound and many an admiring comment. They also made me decide to stuff going to the party dressed as Alice, I'm going to pull out my frilly black and go as the Queen instead! Two problems solved!

And now I'm happy again :D

Bubbly by Colbie Caillat

I like this song; it has a gentle and soothing melody. Kinda like a lullaby.

And I do like the sentiment that sometimes your sweetie makes you feel tingly rather than wanting to get freaky.

Oh god, I'm getting maudlin with age!

Fever

I don't want to be mean...but I can't help thinking of shaking Zhang Ziyi and saying *YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!*
But then wikipedia told me that he's multi-millionaire Vivi Nevo. Yeah, I don't know who he is either but if they're happy, I'm happy.

Menu for the Week

Well the parental units have left the country yet again for a fortnight (woo!) but that means that I'll be cooking for myself and Brother during that time (boo!).

This is what I envisage eating:
Spaghetti
Vegetable Pie
Quiche
Some kind of stirfry
Chicken & Carrot soup
Chicken & Corn soup

And now I'm stuck for ideas.
Anyone got any ideas?

Happy New Year!

I actually spent yesterday playing with some rats but didn't take the opportunity to photograph any of them. Oh well. This paper one will have to do.

Mille grazie, Signor Valentino!!!

I forgot to mention that Valentino Garavani is retiring from fashion after 45 years (!) in the biz. He recently showed his very last haute couture collection at Paris fashion week. Here's a few pieces from his collection.

Gotta love a red dress (source)

Ooh! Pink and frilly!!! (source)

I actually really like the b&w one on the left (source)

Damn mozzies

I hate mosquitoes. I hate them so much that I am really gratified whenever I kill them. It's like my speed and skill beat theirs.

And I feel even better when I kill them and I find blood because it means I really did kill that damn bloodsucker that got me.

I'm a terrible buddhist.
