Budapest - Day 2 part 1

After a good sleep in followed by a mediocre hotel breakfast, we three wandered around the city and decided to take the antique number 2 tram along the Danube/Duna.
To get to the river, we first passed these lovely art nouveau buildings.

If you're a tourist in Budapest, whether it be for a few days or a few hours, I highly recommend taking the tram. As I said, it runs along the river and riding it from end-to-end, you get a quick rundown of the main sites of the city. It's a little bit hard to take photos while the tram is moving but it's especially good if your time is limited.
Such as this futuristic building whose purpose/function, I have no idea.

The Freedom statue standing proud on top of Gellert Hill.

Gellert Baths

The Elizabeth bridge

Budapest Castle

The Chain Bridge

St. Stephen and Fisherman's Bastion

Also on this tram is a warning sign, for which I have no idea what the blue panel is supposed to mean.

Building and roadworks means that the tram currently terminates at Parliament.

Where we boarded this superlong and fast escalator, and headed towards the City Park.

So peaceful...

The peace was broken at the cafe here were we were basically continuously ignored by the service staff. And then they had the nerve to charge us a service fee!

It put me in a cranky mood, but it was soon wiped away. Next up: FESTIVAL!!!
