As can happen in academic research, there was a bit of a post-doc exodus mid-year. As stated before, I joined a new group. That colleague I hated? His contract was not renewed (SCHADENFREUDE ALERT!). And meanwhile, Dr Piller chose to join...the army. Okay, technically he's just there to fulfill his regular duty quota, but still...lol. On the other hand, I should now refer to him as MAJOR Dr., because that's his official title. Also, his base is just down the road so he can turn up to lunch on campus!
But it meant that he turned up at our campus dressed like this:
Yeah, even he had trouble keeping a straight face.
