Despite the rampant drinking and heavy cuisine, Germany has a reputation as being a fairly healthy nation. I won't bother getting into whether I agree with that assessment or not but I would just like to say that I find it strange that it's really difficult to find somewhere after 8pm to buy milk, sugar, shampoo etc....but it seems like there are cigarette vending machines on every second corner.
Just sayin'.
