Singapore! Part 1

I had a 13 hour stopover in Singapore on the way back to Melbs, so I did what I normally do in this situation - called up Pooky and we had a big day of eating!

Given that I arrived around 7:30 am, breakfast was the perfect way for us to catch up. We went to Wild Honey where I had this. I can't exactly remember what it was, but it consisted of poached eggs (nums!) on top of crab cakes (nums!!!) topped with hollandaise sauce and black caviar (NUMS!!!). Totally worth it.

Being desperate for some xiaolongbao, despite that large meal, we headed towards Paradise Dynasty a couple of hours later. We specifically chose this as opposed to other locations (e.g. Din Tai Fung) because Paradise Dynasty specialise in multi-flavoured XLBs!!!

The dumplings were coloured so we could tell the flavours apart. They were crab roe (orange), garlic (grey), szechuan (pink), ginseng (green), foie gras (beige), black truffle (black), cheese (yellow), and original (white).

Pooky and I had a set each so that we could discuss our favourites in depth. Far and away we agreed that black truffle was the best (THE BEST!!!), followed by foie gras and roe together, original, szechuan and ginseng equal, with garlic being far and away the worst. Biting into the garlic bao...it was as though I was chewing on a garlic bulb. Ugh! Far too strong for our liking.

But since we're hungry girls, we also had chili wontons,

bamboo shoots,

And some pork belly noodles.

If you get the chance, I highly recommend eating at these places. There are several branches of each, but the Wild Honey we went to was in the Mandarin Centre and Paradise Dynasty in the ION Centre.
